Western Colorado Chorale Endowment Fund
Since 1985 the Western Colorado Chorale has showcased the artistic vocal talents of many local residents from all walks of life in the Grand Valley. Through their dedication and the inspiration of founder and director, Dr. Monte Atkinson, countless musical treasures have been performed at a very high artistic level. Over the years the patrons of the Chorale have come to love and appreciate this jewel of the Grand Valley and look forward to exceptional vocal art every year. The Western Colorado Chorale Endowment (WCCEF) will help ensure that this high level of vocal art will continue for many years to come.
Our Endowment Fund actually began several years ago when a beloved WCC member and past President, Terry Wakefield, generously bequeathed a $5,000 legacy gift to the Chorale. His gift has become the genesis for this Endowment Fund effort, and the Chorale Board hopes to grow the Fund to $70,000 by the end of this current season. While the principal will always remain intact, the generated interest will be applied to yearly expenses like rehearsal facilities, guest artists, music, etc., or to underwrite larger concerts.
Whether you have been a Chorale member, a patron or a past Chorale donor, we hope you will graciously consider supporting this long-term endowment of the Western Colorado Chorale. Every dollar will help us ultimately reach our $70,000 goal.
There are many ways to make your wishes known:
- Make a generous WCCEF donation, either one time or on a regular basis (This could qualify as a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA)
- Leave a legacy bequest in your Will to the WCCEF Fund
- Become a Legacy Society Member by notifying us of your intent to remember WCCEF in your will
- Become a Founding Donor before May 31, 2023 – Founding Donors pledge a minimum gift of $1,000 to the WCCEF during this inaugural first year
